Staff Profiles

G. Dean Crocker, Executive Director, is responsible for C.A.R.E.S., Inc. and the Client Assistance Program, research and evaluation services, public policy analysis and troubleshooting for the agency.  He has a Master’s Degree in Social Work.  He has been at C.A.R.E.S., Inc. since 1988.

Stephen J. Beam, Program Director, oversees the everyday operations of all programs.  He is responsible for managing all programmatic and some administrative aspects of the programs.  These include case supervision, individual case representation, identification of systemic issues, coordinating training and outreach efforts and assisting the Consumer Advisory Board.  Other duties include preparing federal and state program reports and making policy recommendations to the Divisions of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Blind & Visually Impaired.  Steve has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.  He has been with C.A.R.E.S. Inc. since 1992.

Diane T. Frigon, Advocate, works directly with consumers who are clients of Vocational Rehabilitation and Independent Living Services.  She is involved in systemic and individual advocacy for negotiation and mediation regarding services under Title I and VII of the Rehabilitation Act, as amended in 1998.  She provides consumers with general information regarding the rights and services under the Rehabilitation Act.  Diane has a Master of Arts Degree in Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counseling and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.  She has been with C.A.R.E.S., Inc. since 1995.

Carolyn A. Miville, Administrative Assistant, conducts telephone intakes with potential consumers, maintains a database of all consumers and their case files and handles grant management.  She tracks budget and cost allocations with spreadsheets.  She also works with Microsoft Office, Word, Access, Excel and QuickBooks.  Kay handles all bookkeeping including preparation and payment of federal 941 taxes, federal and state unemployment taxes, state withholding taxes, accounts payable, employee payroll and expense accounts, financial accounts and maintains fiscal management of the CAP Contract.  She prepares CAP quarterly and annual reports.  Kay has an Associate’s Degree in Social Services.  She has been at C.A.R.E.S., Inc. since 1992.
